Lovejoy Law Offices, P.C. was established by Fred C. Lovejoy in 1998.  Mr. Lovejoy has over 24 years of successful experience representing companies and individuals through the State of Michigan.  He is an excellent litigator and negotiator which has resulted in many cost effective and successful results for clients.

Mr. Lovejoy graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1986.  He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in May of 1986 and to the State Bar of New Hampshire in October 1986.  Mr. Lovejoy worked for a Lansing law firm from 1986 until he left in 1998 to open Lovejoy Law Offices, P.C.  During that employment, Mr. Lovejoy gained valuable litigation skills and established valuable relationships with influential and successful individuals throughout the state of Michigan.

Mr. Lovejoy’s representation of business clients, both as a plaintiff’s and defendant’s attorney has led to excellent results for his clients.  His representation has involved businesses owned by individuals as well as nationally public traded corporations.  Mr. Lovejoy is experienced with the set up stages for a company, to include which form of business entity to establish as well as in the sale or purchase of any such entity and its assets.  He has been involved in the sale of a variety of businesses including restaurant/bar businesses, construction companies, retail companies and recycling/landfill companies.  Mr. Lovejoy is a strong negotiator with excellent skills.  Businesses represented by Mr. Lovejoy have included merchandise retail chains, restaurant/bars, manufacturing and moving companies, carpet sales and cleaning, auto dealerships, repair shops, construction companies, commercial real estate companies, recycling companies and landfills.  You will be provided practical legal counsel and advice in operating and protecting your business.   In the event litigation becomes necessary, you will have an experienced and skilled attorney to represent you and protect your interests and your business.

Mr. Lovejoy has also represented many clients in divorce and related family law matters with success through settlement, hearings and trial.  Recently, he was able to obtain sole legal and physical custody for a client after protracted litigation proceedings, which decision was affirmed by the Michigan Court of Appeals.  Although settlement is often in the best interest of the client, Mr. Lovejoy will always be prepared to proceed to trial when necessary.

Mr. Lovejoy also has extensive experience working with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission in licensing, hearing and appeal matters.  He has represented a variety of individually owned and company owned retailers, bars, restaurants, gas stations and party stores obtaining liquor licenses without unnecessary delay and working with businesses to keep their licenses is an expertise.  Mr. Lovejoy will again provide counsel to best avoid violations and maintain full operations for your company.

 LLO, P.C. is also involved in representing clients in personal injury matters.
